Nora, my 8 year old has entered the Read, Right and Run contest. The rules are she has to read 26 books, do 26 good deeds and run 26 miles some time before mid-April. I've agreed to do it along with her. She's read 5 new books so far this weekend (it's Saturday) and I'm pretty sure she can run much better than I and she's got me hands down on the doing good deeds. Nevertheless, I'm going to use this page to track my progress.
1/8: Nora's finished her books and 2 away from finishing her good deeds. I'm not sure which one's going to get me, the miles or being considerate.

Miles:18
Okay, so today (2/22) we went as a family to Powder Valley for a casual walk. Nora decided it would be a good time to get in some miles and took off at a fast clip with Charlotte following suit.
1 1/2 miles in Charlotte needed a rest. Given that I was wearing my Birks and given that the last 1/4 mile I had a 5 year old riding on my shoulders, I'm going to count this as 2 miles.
Powder Valley: 3/8 this time with Chucks=1 1/2 miles
Good Deeds: 4
3/17: Picked up trash at the Rocket Park
FINALLY! During our trek around Laumeier today, Nora noticed glass fragments in the Pool Complex so we busied ourselves picking up and throwing away the trash. According to the RRR people, this qualifies as a good deed. Thanks to litterers, I may have a shot at this after all. As long as I don't have to be nice to people while I'm picking up trash that is.
FORGOT: When we had the big snow I helped shovel a guy's stuck car out of a snowbank at the end of our street. I first thought cursing and mocking him for trying to drive a Prius through a foot high snow bank eliminated this from the good deed category, but I think I'll count it.
1/24: Brought in a trunkload of giant cardboard for Charlotte's pre-school class (granted this was as much for us to get rid of cardboard, but again, I'm going to have to stretch a bit to make it here).
